We specialise in Hypno-analysis (a therapeutic technique that utilises free-association to release and resolve repressed emotions, conflicts and anxieties) and combine this with Suggestion Therapy.
Is a type of psychotherapy that works on the principle that every effect or symptom has a cause. This is a gentle and effective therapy that identifies the underlying cause and provides a solution to more deep-rooted psychological or emotional issues. The key to analytical therapy is that it enables you to access your unconscious mind and recall the experience that relates back to the root cause and by releasing these trapped emotions the problem is resolved permanently. Hypno-analysis is effective for a vast number of conditions some of which include emotional problems, panic attacks, phobias, irrational fears, relationship problems, sleeping disorders, stuttering, psycho-sexual problems and most other problems were a psychological factor may be involved. |
Suggestion therapy is effective in the treatment of minor or habitual conditions such as smoking, nail biting, confidence, performance/exam nerves, weight control, relaxation... to name but a few. It is important to note that this is a short term solution for some conditions and hypno analysis may be required to successfully eliminate the problem long term, as suggestion therapy alone does not include analytical therapy and therefore does not establish the root cause of the ailment. |
We empower adults and children to make positive changes in their lives and enable them to achieve a happier and healthier state of mind and body.
Will I BE ASLEEP?
No. You will be fully awake and fully conscious of everything that I say. Many people never having experienced hypnotherapy believe they will be asleep during the session. However, hypnosis is not a sleep state, although you may display in appearance characteristics of being asleep you are in fact fully awake but deeply relaxed.
WILL I DO ANYTHING YOU TELL ME TO?
The simple answer to that is No! Many clients come with the concern that they will be made to do things they don't want to and will reveal their darkest secrets. It's important to stress here that you, the client are in control at all times. As your therapist I do not have power over you and you will not do something that is outside your normal moral code or say anything you don't want to. Hypnosis is about achieving a calm and relaxed state of mind, you will remember everything under hypnosis and retain complete control at all times.
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
The feeling experienced while under hypnosis will be different for every client. However, in general it is a tremendously pleasant state of relaxation and can be compared to the feeling of daydreaming. Every muscle in your body relaxes, tension disappears and your mind is calm and relaxed.
IS HYPNOSIS DANGEROUS?
No, absolutely not. There have been no cases of anyone unable to come out of hypnosis or any documented case of harm coming to anyone as a result of it's therapeutic use. There is nothing supernatural or magical about hypnotherapy, in fact doctors are accepting it as a valuable therapy in the treatment of the causes and symptoms of psychosomatic illnesses. Dentists are also applying hypnosis to relax apprehensive patients.
WHAT IF I CAN'T BE HYPNOTISED?
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind and for that reason most people can be hypnotised. The exception is when a persons natural state of mind is not functioning as it should, for example altered by the affects of drugs, under the influence of alcohol or suffering from a mental illness.
DO I NEED TO BE REFERRED BY MY G.P?
No. It is not a requirement for most conditions and you can book a session of hypnotherapy without consulting your doctor. However, if you are currently receiving medical treatment for the condition you are attending therapy for, it is advised that you consult your doctor before attending and you should discuss with me before commencing therapy. Any prior medical conditions that may affect the treatment should also be disclosed to me. All information discussed and disclosed remains private and confidential.
